On the morning of October 27, Wu Jin, Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee; and Zhou Zhihong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government met with a delegation led by Fang Hongbo, Chairman and President of Midea Group. They attended the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement between Midea and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government and an agreement on the project of the Jingzhou base of Midea's HVAC & Building Technologies Division.

Wu welcomed the delegation on behalf of the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government. A leading enterprise can reshape a city, he said. By deploying its three pillar industries: refrigerator, washing machine and air conditioner in Jingzhou, Midea will help Jingzhou create a home appliance industry cluster to fill Jingzhou's industrial gap, extend its industry chain and promote the digital, intelligent, green and integrated transformation of Jingzhou's industry. Jingzhou will go all out to provide quality services and create a top development environment for Midea's project construction in Jingzhou. He hoped that the two sides would take the opportunity of agreement signing to carry out all-round, multi-level and broad-range cooperation, so as to promote the development of Jingzhou's white goods industry and provide industrial support for building a regional center city.

Fang expressed gratitude to the CPC Jingzhou Municipal Committee and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government for their strong support to Midea's development in Jingzhou. He has keenly felt the constant optimization of Jingzhou's business environment and its sustained growth since Midea started to invest in Jingzhou. Midea positive about Jingzhou's future development is willing to deepen pragmatic cooperation with Jingzhou at deeper levels and in more fields to further extend its industry chain, he said, adding that Midea would strive to build a home appliance manufacturing base for Midea's three business divisions: refrigerator, washing machine and air conditioner, thereby creating a model intelligent plant and promoting the high-quality development of Jingzhou.

Following the meeting, Midea and the Jingzhou Municipal People's Government held the signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation agreement and the project of the Jingzhou base of Midea's HVAC & Building Technologies Division. With a total investment of 2.1 billion yuan, the project is scheduled to start in late December 2021. After its completion, the project will be the division's largest R&D and production base in China.
